St Catherine's Chapel

Set on a hilltop overlooking Abbotsbury and beyond is the small stone chapel of St Catherine's.

Dating back to the 14th century, St Catherine's Chapel was spared the destruction that was wrought on Abbotsbury Abbey by the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

The chapel was built to last not only are the 4 foot thick buttressed walls made of stone, the roof is too.

St Catherine is the patron saint of spinsters.
