Looking down on the natural oddity that is Chesil Beach. The bank stretches around 18 miles in total and is a consistent 50 feet (15 metres) high along its length. Along this stretch between Abbotsbury and Portland a lagoon known as the Fleet is formed. A site of special scientific interest it is home to many wading birds and Abbotsbury Swannery.
