View up the harbour towards Weymouth town bridge.
The bridge was built in 1930 on the site of the 1824 bridge and joins the boroughs of Melcombe and Weymouth on either side. The first bridge built here was a wooden structure in 1597.
The town bridge is a drawbridge allowing large ships underneath when lifted.
