Lulworth Castle is a grandiose 17th century folly built by Thomas Howard, 3rd Lord Bindon, as a hunting lodge.
It was gutted by fire in 1929 and abandoned. However, in the 1970s the castle was bought by English Heritage who have restored it to somwhere near its former glory
